360 Cities Spherical Video Camera - $500 beta version

Here are the first demos of our panoramic video camera. It is (nearly) completely spherical. The initial objective was not to make the best or the highest quality for $xx,000 price, but to make the most PORTABLE, simplest and cheapest version. This has been a success so far. In order to continue the evolution of this project into the next stage, I need some users.

The most interesting aspect of this setup is that it is completely portable. It can work on any windows laptop (above 1 ghz or so) and does not require any plug-in power.

I'm now offering these cameras on a limited basis for $500 each + VAT.

Included in this price will be 6 months / 60 hours of processing, and all published and hosted on 360cities.net (you will be able to then embed the result into your own website, as you would a youtube clip). This is only valid for "appropriate" content - i.e. pornographers should try to make a different agreement with us.

The setup is TOTALLY PORTABLE / battery powered. It requires only one person to operate. It can shoot at one frame per second ( 1 fps ). If you are interested in "realtime", the price will be $250 more, but unfortunately this works only via a desktop computer, and only with certain very specific motherboard chipsets. If this is a deal-breaker for you, I suggest that you wait for our next version of our spherical video camera in a few months (which will be portable and real time, and higher resolution, but cost at least 3 times more).

Let me emphasize that this really is a "beta" program - it is not yet a fully commericialzed product. If you are interested in bleeding-edge technology, being the very first to use a very exciting medium, at the expense of a few features and a bit of convenience, then this is for you. If you expect an "out of the box" "single click" solution in a package that is shiny and polished, this is not for you - check back with us in a few months ;)

The people who get this first beta product will have the first chance (and a better price) on the next version.
